USAID Awards the YouthPower: Implementation IDIQ to Global Communities

Ghana youth employmentGlobal Communities employs inclusive and participatory methods to reach youth, including those who are the most vulnerable and susceptible to poverty, disease and violence. By implementing youth-focused programs in economic development, health, conflict mitigation and civic engagement, Global Communities enables youth to reach greater potential and secure a healthier, more sustainable future. A key component of our commitment to positive youth development is engaging youth in their own development.

On February 23, 2015, USAID awarded Global Communities the YouthPower: Implementation IDIQ. Under this IDIQ, Global Communities has the opportunity to respond to Request for Task Order Proposals to provide technical assistance or direct service implementation in the areas of:

  1. Increased youth use of services and opportunities
  2. Improved quality of services and opportunities for youth
  3. Strengthened engagement of youth in development activities and policy-making processes

Global Communities is leading a consortium of 10 partners, five of which are small businesses, bringing to USAID’s YouthPower expertise in economic development, civic engagement, education, sexual and reproductive health, youth inclusive financial services, vocational training, conflict resolution, research, and knowledge management. Our partners include: International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX), Advocates for Youth, Brandies University’s Center for Youth and Communities; Encompass, LLC, Freedom from Hunger, The Kaizen Company, Juarez and Associates, Kiron Global Strategies, Search for Common Ground, and Woller and Associates.

We look forward to supporting USAID on this important initiative.

Global Communities is an international nonprofit organization that works closely with communities worldwide to bring about sustainable changes that improve the lives and livelihoods of the most vulnerable. Development is not something we do for people; it is something we do with them. We believe that the people who understand their needs best are the people of the community itself. We make a difference by engaging with communities, governments, the private sector and NGOs as partners for good—bringing together complementary strengths and shared responsibilities to work toward common goals.
