Engaging Youth in Latin America
With the support of the Alcoa Community Foundation, CHF International is implementing the Youth Engagement for Advancing Hope (YEAH) program in the cities of El Progreso, Honduras and Ciudad Acuña, Mexico. The three-year program will incorporate CHF International’s proven youth vocational and job placement methodology by specifically targeting at-risk youth and providing them with vocational training in marketable skills that are in demand by the local private-sector.
Through YEAH, CHF aims to :
Leverage local organizations to build their capacity to provide effective vocational training and job placement programs
Target at-risk youth—those who are unemployed, under-employed, unskilled or disabled
Engage the local private-sector to enhance economic growth and private enterprise in the local communities by employing the newly-trained youth
In both cities, the program aims to enhance the quality of youth-focused programs, increase the number of young men and women in vocational training programs, and increase the direct involvement of the private-sector in youth engagement.
