CHF International’s Colombia Responde initiative is working in some of the most remote areas of the Montes de Maria region in Colombia to consolidate municipal governance and engender sustainable peace and security. This video tells the story of one village, Camarón, that is only accessible by boat. Colombia Responde worked with the community to build a new children’s park and obtain additional boats so that children could attend school. Increased access to education is one of the most crucial components of reducing poverty and insecurity. It is through small but significant projects like this that CHF is contributing to sustainable community development even in the most far-flung places.
