Improving Schools

In 2008 Gloabl Communities began working in Kosovo to improve the educational environment for primary and secondary school students. With funding from USAID, Gloabl Communities is constructing new classrooms and rehabilitating existing classroom space to provide safer places for children to learn.

Gloabl Communities is working closely with the Kosovo Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) and municipal governments to leverage local funding and employ local labor. Gloabl Communities is also working closely with communities so that their priorities are followed, and that they are invested in the repairs. To date, school repairs and improvements completed by Gloabl Communities are benefiting more than 20,000 students.
